Clarence Pier
As part of the 2022 government funded eXRe project at Portsmouth University’s Centre for Creative and Immersive XR, I worked with Aspex Gallery and artist Karanjit Panesar to produce a film combining real footage, motion capture, volumetric capture and animated environments built in Unreal Engine.
“The dialogue throughout the film is taken entirely from interviews with local people in Portsmouth that have a connection to Clarence Pier. What appear like coherent and cohesive monologues are actually extracts from multiple conversations, edited and spliced together to make a collage of words and sentiment…
Everything shown on the screen has been a conscious choice in the edit suite. Apparent gaffes or glitches all point us to the technology and remind us that although there are elements of fact in the script, the rest is almost entirely fiction.” - Full film details here.
